Kite-kit is now proudly offering Kitesurf Lessons in Hunstanton, North Norfolk.

If you’re looking for a fantastic adrenaline rush, to increase your time on the water, or just to experience a new hobby, this could be the activity for you. Kite surfing is a great sport for anyone regardless of your previous experience, with kite surfers ranging from kids always on the beach, to the retired who are young at heart!

After 9 years of providing superb service and value to the kitesurfing community in the UK, Kite-kit is now working with Jord Smith, a fully qualified BKSA (British Kitesurfing Association) and IKO (International Kiteboarding Organisation) instructor to bring great quality and good value kitesurfing lessons to Hunstanton, North Norfolk.

2 to 1 Ratio Maximum

A key difference that you’ll experience with Kit-Kit tuition is our low ratio of 2 students per instructor. Jord’s experience over the years has shown that running Kitesurfing courses at the industry norm ratio of 4 students per instructors is not the most effective way of getting people on to the water. An improved ratio of a 2:1 both increases the time you spend with the kite, and gives us more time to focus on your progression.

Quality 2011/2012 Equipment

Through many years in the kiting industry we have seen the quality and safety of kitesurfing equipment progress dramatically with the introduction of high depower kites, and quality of manufacture is at an all time high. Our lessons use North, Mutiny and Liquid Force kites and boards, which in our opinion are currently some of the best equipment on the market. We also use very high quality ION wetsuits which will keep you warm in the water, none of those baggy leaky old suits here!

Courses

Beginners Course (9 hours over 3 days) - £260

This course is run by the IKO standards on the IKO scheme, and at the end of the course you will receive an IKO membership card which certifies you level of riding.

Outline of the course

Day 1 – the first day consists of some basic flying of a power kite on the beach, then straight into the water to fly the kite surfing kite, launching and landing and the start of body dragging. Finishing with a small amount of theory.
Day 2 – On the second day you will mainly be working on body dragging, working through downwind, crosswind and upwind body dragging.
Day 3 – Final day normally consist of a quick recap of all the skill then attempting the board starts!

Private 1 to 1 lesson - £35 per hour

Whether you are looking to improve your board starts, first jumps or back rolls this is the lesson for you. When you book a private lesson we talk through what you are looking to get from your time then we custom tailor the course to your needs.

2 hour Taster Session - £65

This course is designed to give you an insight into the sport, if you are not sure if you want to commit to the full course. If you then decide to take up the full course we deduct the cost and time of the taster session.

The taster session consists of some very basic flying on the beach, then into the water to fly the kite and have some fun! This course is not designed to get you onto the board but just give you an insight into the sport.

1.5 hour Power kite lesson - £25

Power kiting is a great form of kite flying giving you good control of the kite, having fun when being dragged around by the kite! This is a great start for anyone looking to get into kite sports.

If you sign up for a power kiting we suggest bringing sturdy shoes to support your ankles.
